Therapists
Dr Helen Layton
I’m a registered Clinical Psychologist (HCPC) with over ten years of experience in NHS mental health services, currently working in a specialist NHS Perinatal Mental Health Service. I offer therapy for adults and for children of primary school age (under 10), with particular specialisms in perinatal mental health and supporting families with children under 5.
My approach to therapy is integrative, drawing mainly on psychodynamic and systemic ideas, and incorporating CBT when it feels helpful — always tailoring sessions to the needs of each person or family.
I offer individual and couple therapy at Cheldgate House in Rochester, and provide consultation, reflective practice, and training both locally and online.
Fees for individual sessions are £130, and for couples, £150. I accept payment via most insurance companies.
Elizabeth Goodearl
I’m a Clinical Psychologist in Doctoral Training with eight years of experience in NHS mental health services. I continue to work in the NHS and am currently completing the final stages of my doctoral training.
I offer individual therapy to adults and young people. My clinical interests include working with loss, grief, trauma, separation and anxiety. I also think about social injustice and inequality within my work.
Whilst I am trained across a variety of therapeutic modalities, my approach to therapy is largely psychodynamic. I also use other explorative ways of working such as existential and narrative approaches.
I offer individual therapy at Cheldgate House in Rochester. Fees for individual sessions are typically £100 although I do offer a sliding scale, depending on the frequency and type of therapy. I currently accept payment via self-funding.
Izabela Nowakowska
My name is Izabela Urszula Nowakowska, a registered Dramatherapist and adult psychotherapist with a strong background in performing arts. I hold an MA in Dramatherapy from Roehampton University and have extensive NHS experience supporting adults with complex mental health challenges, including cPTSD, personality disorders, anxiety and depression. I currently hold a Senior Psychotherapist position in the NHS.
My integrative, trauma-sensitive approach blends evidence-based methods (DBT, MBT), psychodynamic insight, and creative dramatherapy techniques such as storytelling and metaphor. I am committed to ethical, culturally sensitive care and ongoing professional development. I bring empathy, creativity, and collaboration to help clients build resilience and achieve meaningful personal growth.
My fees are £85. I can see clients in Rochester and Ramsgate. I work face to face and online, in English and Polish.
